This charming Southern town is filled with wonderful historic sites, a quaint and lovely downtown, breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, delicious local cuisine, and some of the friendliest people around. Our team members love working here and visiting as tourists, creating cherished memories. Natchez, a historic city, has undergone remarkable transformation. From the stunning sunsets and 18th-century architecture to the present day, the city has been shaped by the struggles, inspiration, and efforts of its diverse community, especially people of color. Today, Natchez continues to evolve, embracing its rich cultural heritage.

The city now offers a diverse array of attractions - historical monuments, museums, revitalized storytelling, Black History programs, and nationally published articles - that highlight Natchez's racial, religious, and historical inclusivity. This captivating legacy tells the full story of Natchez and all it has to offer.

Natchez Balloon Festival

Every October, the historic city of Natchez hosts its annual Balloon Festival. Balloonists from around the world gather in Natchez, staking out prime launch sites across the city. Their goal is to navigate their colorful hot air balloons to a large field behind the local shopping mall, where a painted target awaits.

On the ground, the balloon pilots attempt to drop a weighted sandbag with an identification ribbon as close to the target's center as possible - a challenging feat that requires impressive skill. The pilot who lands closest to the mark wins a prize.

This event provides a captivating spectacle for local residents and visitors alike, who delight in watching the graceful balloons soar over Natchez's picturesque landscape. Beyond the main competition, the festival brims with other attractions, including a farmer's market, carnival rides, and an array of delicious local cuisine.

Witnessing the balloons glide effortlessly above Natchez's historic buildings and lush scenery is a truly magical experience, making the annual Balloon Festival a beloved tradition in this charming Mississippi town.

Historic Homes Pilgrimage

Each spring, the charming Southern town of Natchez, Mississippi comes alive with color, history, and hospitality during the annual Historic Homes Pilgrimage. Visitors from near and far are invited to step back in time and explore some of the most beautiful and significant antebellum homes in the American South. The Pilgrimage typically features tours of a dozen or more grand estates, each with its own unique architecture, décor, and fascinating stories. Stately mansions like Longwood with its iconic octagonal dome, and Stanton Hall, one of the most opulent pre-Civil War homes in the country, showcase the height of Greek Revival style. Rosalie's panoramic views of the Mississippi River and The Burn's Italianate design dazzle visitors. The meticulously preserved slave quarters at Concord offer poignant insight into the era. Stunning gardens burst with azaleas, wisteria, and camellias at Green Leaves, Myrtle Terrace and the aptly named Holly Hedges.
